Mercury-Mercruiser 35-866340K01 Oil Filter

This OEM oil filter is constructed with a high-efficiency design that allows for the constant flow of oil to vital engine areas. The unique filtration system screens particles smaller than 1/1000th of an inch from your oil keeping it cleaner longer.

It is recommended that you change your fuel filter after every 100 hours of normal use or minimally once per season.

Application Information:

  • Fits all MCM/MIE GM engines, except V-6 models that have the oil filter mounted on the engine block
  • Mercruiser In-Line 4- & 6- Cylinder Engines
  • Mercruiser GM V8 Engines
  • Mercruiser V6 & V8 Engines w/ Remote Oil Filter
  • Fits 4.5L and 6.2L Mercury engine

Mercury Oil Filter Installation Instructions

  1. Unscrew old filter and clean mounting base. Be sure old gasket is removed from mounting base
  2. Apply a thin coat of oil to filter gasket. Make sure the gasket is seated properly in base of the filter
  3. Screw on until the gasket contacts the base. Tighten 1 - 1-1/4 turn
  4. Use an acceptable filter wrench if necessary. Do NOT exceed 1 - 1-1/4 turn
  5. Refill crank case and run the engine while checking for leaks
  6. Check oil level
