There are a lot of choices in topside marine paints, however, Pettit is an industry leader that creates superior marine grade products for all your marine finishing needs. That is why Wholesale Marine recommends the Pettit Easypoxy line of topside marine paints. Pettit Easypoxy paint is a great choice for areas above the waterline, as well as for refinishing decks.
Pettit Easypoxy is manufactured with an advanced polyurethane formula that, when applied, creates a long-lasting, glossy, gelcoat-like, surface finish with very little effort. This topside paint is silicone-based and goes on smoothly to create a streak-free finish. A high gloss paint, Pettit EZ Poxy has ultraviolet filters to ensure that the paint is durable and effective at providing a brilliant shine. Another plus: the finish is also fade-resistant over time. Easypoxy applies quickly using a roll and top method so that even a novice painter can achieve amazing results.

Pettit 121 Thinner: Use for spraying.

Suggested Primer: Pettit EZ-Prime
Prior to applying EZ Poxy paint, use Pettit EZ-Prime as a base coat whenever the surface to be painted is aged, cracked, checked, pitted, or rough or not completely smooth. It can be applied to fiberglass, wood, and previously painted surfaces. The product dries quickly and is easy to sand. (Formerly sold as: Pettit Easypoxy Undercoater.)
Fiberglass Application System
Be sure to stir Pettit Easypoxy thoroughly before use. Pettit EZ Poxy paint may be applied by brush, roller, conventional, or airless spray. Apply one thin, even coat of Easypoxy per day. After an overnight dry, lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper and apply a second coat.
It's recommended to not thin Pettit EZ Poxy paint when applying with a brush or roller, however, in hot weather 5-10% of Pettit 120 Brushing Thinner can be added to maintain a wet edge. For best results when applying a topside marine paint on large, smooth surfaces, roll out using a short nap roller followed immediately by leveling off with the tip of a brush. For conventional spray applications, thin 15-20% with Pettit 121 Spraying Thinner. For airless spray application, thin up to 5% with Pettit 121 Spraying Thinner. Utilize a 0.11-0.15" diameter tip for application.
