Keep your boat fuel efficient! Gas prices are always fluctuating; one week it’s down and the next it’s back up again. As such, it’s smart to keep your boat fuel efficient by performing a few simple and easy tasks. Fuel Saving Tips: Sterndrives and Inboards Clean your flame arrestor (This will help your engine breathe it’s just like changing the air filter on your car but easier. Change your spark plugs. Change your spark plug wires (They may look good on the outside but they breakdown internally over time.) Change your fuel filters including the water separating filter. Tune up your engine (Replace it all distributor cap , rotor or points, plug wires, plugs, and filters) Replace that damaged propeller. Outboards Change your spark plugs. Change your fuel filters. Spray engine tuner or power tune directly in to the carburetors while the engine is running on a hose at approximately 1200 RPM. Replace that damaged propeller.
