Hawk Epoxy Pump Kit

The Hawk Epoxy Pump Kit allows for easy measuring Hawk Epoxy and Catalyst ratios. The user manual explains how to properly prime the pumps, store the pumps, and measure accurately with the pumps.

Priming the Hawk Epoxy Pumps

For accurate measuring the pumps need to be primed to remove air form the pump tubes. Place a container under the nozzle to catch any extra resin or catalyst that will be discharged while priming. Push the pump down until it can go no further and then release until it returns to a full upright position. Do this until you get a steady stream of product each stroke. This helps ensure all air is removed from the pump and that it is properly primed.

Accurately Measuring Resin & Catalyst

Once properly primed dispense the resin and catalyst into the same container using full strokes from top to bottom with an EQUAL number of strokes for both the resin and catalyst. Partial pumps will result in incorrect ratios which can lead to the epoxy curing improperly. Improperly cured epoxy has a diminished strength. It is recommended to to mix a small sample batch and test the cure time to ensure the pumps are dispensing at the correct ratio. When primed and used properly you should run out of Resin at approximately the same time as you run out of catalyst. If you run out of one before the other their may be an issue with the pumps.

Pump Storage and Cleaning

Store upright in a dry and room temperature areas. After prolonged storage it may be necessary to re-prime the pumps. To remove dried product on pump openings you can use a small nail to reopen the spout.
