Quicksilver Mercury Gen I Platinum+ Throttle & Shift Cable

Quicksilver Platinum Plus Throttle & Shift Cables are designed with total system performance in mind. This high performance cable is suitable for the most demanding applications. Platinum Plus cables are designed and tested to Mercury's rigid test requirements with the total engine system driving the overall system performance.

When to replace a cable: Quicksilver recommends replacing your cable when excessive free play or stiffness is felt at the control. If there are chafed, broken, bent, or loose parts, replace the cable.

How to Measure a Throttle & Shift Cable

New:

• Measure path from control to engine throttle/shift attachment point along unobstructed cable route.
• Add 18" for outboard applications.

Replacement:

• Measure old cable from tip to tip and subtract seven inches.
